Tuesday Shoesday

I tried these beauties on over the Thanksgiving holiday at the Houston Galleria and instantly fell in love.  (By the way, if you are in need of a dose of "happy" just head to the Kate Spade store around the holidays, it surely does the trick!)  The pumps actually are even prettier in person - the picture makes it hard to tell but they are beautiful satin.  The neon green and plum purple with the hot pink heel is so fun and the perfect addition to your holiday party attire (or an unexpected pop under the wedding dress.)  Neon is big this year and this is just the perfect whimsical touch to an all black or neutral ensemble without looking too 1980's.  Let your shoes do the talking!

I’m so happy to report that Strawberry Milk is the recipient of The Knot’s "Best of" Weddings award for 2012!  This is very much a "people's choice" award and we cannot thank our clients enough for all of the awesome reviews and kind words.  I feel so incredibly blessed to be able to do what I love on a daily basis, working with amazing couples and helping to make their wedding dreams a reality.  What a great Thanksgiving gift!

The Knot will officially announce all of the best of winners on their site January 23, 2012.

Real Wedding: Sweet on St. Michael's

Katie and Mike held their 220 person wedding at her parents home in beautiful St. Michaels, MD.  Affectionately referred to by some as the "Little Hamptons," St. Michaels is a an extremely picturesque and quaint town on Maryland's eastern shore.  Even though they now live in Annapolis, both Katie and Mike grew up in STM and their families still reside there so it made sense to have the celebration in their hometown.  The theme of the wedding was southern elegance meets hometown sweethearts (Katie was prom queen!) with a girl-next-door kinda feel.  Since Katie's parents property is called "The Groves" (which is short for their last name, Hargrove) we decided to play up the "Groves" and do a subtle tree theme for the wedding.  The property's long driveway is lined with trees and K+M decided to get married under a beautiful tree in the backyard so it worked out perfectly :)  Enjoy the wonderful pictures by Abby Jiu - I love that she shoots film!

Engage in the Caymans - PT. II

The second part of Engage 11 featured even more brilliant speakers such as Barbara Corcoran from Shark Tank and celebrity event designers Mindy Weiss and Ed Libby, a media panel of wedding magazine editors and tv producers, intimate dine arounds with speakers in small groups, more fab networking and dessert parties and the finale gala. So much great stuff was being thrown out there, I was writing furiously during the day sessions and now can't wait to pour  through my notes on the plane home.  Everyone left feeling so refreshed and inspired to take their business to the next level!  Enjoy the day two and three recap film courtesy of Elysium Productions :)  (Can you believe they this is a same day edit??  They are so talented!)

Engage in the Caymans - PT. I

I have had the opportunity to come to Grand Cayman for a few days to be a part of a luxury wedding conference at the Ritz-Carlton.  Not a bad place for a conference, eh??  It is so amazing to be surrounded by the creme de la creme of the industry.  I am just as inspired and challenged by the other attendees as the great speakers such as Darcy Miller (editor at Martha Stewart Weddings), Carley Roney (editor/founder at The Knot) and Randy Fenoli from TLC's Say Yes to the Dress.  The 22 minute talks today (modeled after the TED talks) have been beyond.  And lunching on a catamaran and swimming with sting rays was pretty memorable too.  I can't wait for tomorrow!  Enjoy this Day 1 recap video from Elysium Productions :)  Day 2 recap to come tomorrow!
